Have your say

The  opening  topic would be.. whats in the news, things that have caught my attention, recently reported in the press a twelve year old girl was raped by two teenagers in Walthamstow east London late at night, this event happened at the beginning of  August, as the school summer break started, just because its summer break and there is no school , does that mean that there will be more events like this happening in our community.

where are the parents of this girl did they not know that she was not at home at twelve years old what are you doing out so late. no one has the right to violate another persons space, nor do they have the right to violate another person by raping them no matter what age.this little girl will be scarred for life ,and will most probably experience a major change in behavior, which will have a a huge impact on the rest of her life and probably on the rest of her families lives.

have parents lost the power to be parents to their children, are we losing a whole generation of children to a life that has no guidance, no respect for self or others, do we no longer expect our children to have aspirations for their future.

I hope that I can help to make a difference to the lives of both parents and children, and that I can help to improve their relationship with each other.

please have your say or get in touch the future of our children rest with you

listening to breakfast TV this week one of the debates is about mobile phones and when is the right time for a child to have one, a mother gave her  five year old a mobile phone for her birthday. the mothers reasons were that her child spends a large part of her day with minders, as her mother works a full time job, her child having a phone allows contact at anytime.

we live in a technological age, where everything is done by computers, or phones, children are introduced to technology from a very early age,we even have smart TVs. this throws up  questions such as when should a child be allowed a mobile phone?. how do parents monitor the use of the phone, and should a child under ten years old have a I phone 5. what are we teaching our children?

Are we letting technology bring up our children? There is a growing number of children and young people who are reaching school leaving age who are unable to read and write properly,  without the aid of  technology. A whole generation of children unable to read adequately, and some have no handwriting skills, yet we expect them to go on to further education or into employment. or do we have those expectations, maybe we have become complacent about the low level education that our children receive from a system that is suppose to prepare them for a productive future. Are  we no longer instilling in our children the values of respect, good manners, and gaining knowledge?

Have we given up on encouraging our children to build a brighter future for themselves ?

It’s that time of year , the new school term is upon us again, how do we know? Parents are frantically purchasing school uniforms ,arguing about  what shoes are in or out,and what colour hair is in vogue, and that’s just the parents.

new starters at primary school are excited, parents are nervous about the first day, and are more worried than the children, teachers are praying for children who are well behaved and will listen to them, first day for the teacher is as traumatic as it is for the parents, and most of the children. If you are a newly qualified teacher your first day is always the hardest, because your training did not tell you how to deal with the child who does not want to socialise or make friends, it did not tell you how to deal with the child who cannot share, or the child who cries all day  so you the teacher who thought they could conquer the world begin to wonder why choose to ate arc teacher?

once the first day has passed you remember why you chose that profession . My question then is “Does the education  system in schools fit for purpose.? If so whose purpose.? Are we as parents settling for a second rate education for our children, are schools really educating our children?or has the education system become the new babysitter.? Many of our young people leave school at sixteen without good literacy levels some can barely read and write they are not encouraged to participate in taking some form of qualifications, yet they are expected to get into work.are the schools doing enough for our children
